I just finished reading your novel which I really loved. Has "the other hand" been translated in other languages? I usally share books I like with my mother but she reads in Italian only...
Keep on writing, I hope to read more from you.

It is so rare to find a writer whose talent touches your very soul. Little Bee is a stunning book. I keep wondering how a male writer can write so realistically like not one, but two women. Your voice is a gift. I'm off to buy Incendiary. Please do not ever stop writing.

I finished Little Bee last night, and did what I almost never do. I read all the material until the pages were blank and thought about the questions and answers. This book is amazing. I'm so thankful I bought it and looked at the world through Bee's eyes for three days. Wow. I've always been one who notices all the Mexican refugees we have here in Louisiana, and I've never been fearful of a single person. They are the same as me, just trying to live until we die. Just trying to make it through the world on any given day. Thank you for the book, so full of important information about the planet we live on.

I started reading your book, and did not want to stop until I had finished. My emotions were brought to the surface on so many levels; the sadness; anger over Bee's horrific suffering as an innocent girl who fled from violence and injustice only to find more of it in her escape. The story makes me very grateful for the life I am able to live in a free society; but also saddens me that persons more fortunate than others treat one another so inhumanly. Thank you for bringing this situation into print so we must all realize these things actually go on and not close our eyes to it.

I have always found it difficult to find a book that I feel compelled to stick with, certainly books that I absolutely love and cannot put down are few and far between. I found it more than easy to stay up all night with Little Bee, I hate to have just now finished the last lines. Little Bee is an involving story that had me feeling each changing emotion and atmosphere seamlessly from page to page. Until I saw the portrait on the back jacket I assumed Chris Cleave was a woman and mother because of his true to life portrayal of his female and child characters. I recommend this book to any reader who wishes to be reminded what it means to feel truly human.

Chris,

I have more appreciation for your writing than this comment box could express. I literally savored every page of Little Bee, and cried tears of joy and sadness throughout. Even when I put the book down, it stayed with me, and I found myself talking about it wherever I was. Thank you for writing, in doing so you have created something beautiful to be treasured, and you have shared a message that must be heard. I will continue to spread the message, and I hope you will continue to create. Peace. --Ali, Washington DC
